Hi Guys

I recently acquired a non runner. The car was standing for a few years. I have never owned an M3 before so just looking for advice on whats the correct plugs to buy for this car?

Thanks.

First point of call should be the dealer. Often their prices are basic things like plugs are reasonable. Work from there.

Go onto www.realoem.com look for the classic section, type in the last 7 number of your VIN, that will bring up the car, then go to engine section, and look for the part numbers there, you should be able to get the spark plug number from that site

Your car is an S50B32 and does not use the Bosch Y5DDC!

Hi thanks for reply. What do you suggest?

Pozer, that comment was for Dhp507, he has an S50B32...
Pozer, your car is an S50B30 - Bosch Y5DDC only. Don't use anything else... unless you settling for second best!

I had a 1996 German spec 2dr. Ordered plugs with vin number. Dealer supplied Bosch plugs. Serviced it at BMW with the new plugs and it seemed to have a misfire. When I looked at the plugs that came out of the car, those were ngk which was what was used on the 3.2l 4dr. Ended up buying a new set using the used NGK plugs as a sample. Car worked fine after that. Double checked if the car didn't in fact have a 3.2 engine instead of a 3l. Unfortunately it turned out I had the 3l which surprisingly worked with the more expensive NGK plugs one normally bought for the 3.2 engine.

Holy thread revival! Can E36 M3 3.0 owners post what plugs they're running? I know the Bosch Y5DDC is listed but I've heard of MANY cases of these plugs breaking of tips and damaging engines. And also common to have misfires on brand new OEM dealer bought Bosch plugs.

What plugs do you have and have no issues?

Still the answer is Y5DDC. I have heard of the tips breaking off, but are those the BMW ones or the non-BMW Y5DDC?
