Hi Guys

Please can you advise on what could have happened, to make me feel more at ease.

During lunch today I went to a local BMW scrapyard/used spares shop to see what 4dr M3 stuff I could get my hands on.

When I parked the car off to go inside the spare shop it was fine, however after when I jumped into it, and started it, it had a misfire, sounded like a 8. Drove it slowly, continued to misfire with some splattering. Stopped at robot, when I took off I gased it a bit, and it cleared up.

Went straight to garage to check oil and water, all fine. The fuel was just below the quater mark, so I put in another R150, started car and it drove fine back to work.

Have not read any codes yet.

Could it be a plug or plug lead or coil packs?

Thanks in advance

Maybe dirt in your tank that went into your injectors. I say this only because after you filled fuel it was fine.

I also thought the same, but it cleared up when I gased it from the Robot which was before I filled fuel

the increase fuel when you put your foot down probably forced the dirt through the injector clearing it up?

I say drive it and see if comes back. I dont let my needle go below quarter because of dirt that maybe at the bottom.

if u car sounded like a 8 cylinder with a cam, then i would suggest u check yr vanos out.
99% of the time the vanos will just need to be serviced, and the kit is very cheap from the agents so dont get ripped off.

i had the same thing on my car... happened about once a month would go away after driving a bit... turned out to be a vacuum leak on one of the pcv pipes...

Hi

Will get the car checked out 2mor for Vannos leak.

When I jumped in the car this afternoon started and was fine, driving home after stopping at Baby City, while turning down from loop into west street, as I turned it went into that misfire mood. Drove slowly to OK mini. Went in to shop, came back start car still has misfire.

Came home while idling in garage, noticed if I hold rev at like 2000rpm after like 10seconds, the misfire clears up.

Let's see what ir does tomorrow.

Hi Guys

Yaa I think its angry as Im looking for original springs for the car, maybe it likes it current height :)

Anyway, this morning it drove fine until I went over a bump on the road, Then it went into missfire mode.

So now , what do I loof for, it has to be something loose?

if you have the codes read you should be able to work out if its the fuel, electrics or vacuum...
