E36 M3 3.2 on Nitrous

So with hot hatches really getting a move on now, an M3 car is no longer the feared 1 at street meetings/ drag strips etc. My friend with a stg1 G6 Gti eats my E36 on top, and I'm sure my other mates stg2 Opc will do the same. It's hard to get gains on a M3 n/a and turbo just doesn't feel right. So my thoughts are 6 fogger, proper gas kit, pressure gauge, nitrous filter, bottle blanket and 2 nos solenoids ( for safety). What are your guys thought on a stock M3 with a 100hp / 150hp (on av gas) shot for race days?

just make sure you get a proper kit with all the failsafes also have a look at the nano system Twins has its way better than a blanket :)

Have your //M checked out, A healthy //M will take out many cars on the street.

I agree have your car checked out , my E36 3.2 sits on the boot of an E46 M3 Coupe. And with my convertible which is alot heavier, a stage2 gti5 was about a car gap behind all the way into 4th gear ...

Have you considered a set of shrick cams or any other aftermarket cams?

I would first fit a set of cams before installing gas.

My M3 is healthy, 232whp @kar, exits 166 - 169km, but like I said, hot hatches have changed the game, the g6 that beats me, makes 253hp and 440nm on the same dyno and the opc 240hp and k04 golf gti's are becoming very popular. The cost of cams vs the gain? Just wanted to know if anyone here had / has nos on an e36 M3, how does the motor handle it? Will get a proper nitrous kit with all the safety features.

+1 with my E36 3.2 M3 these hot hatches still have a hard time to pass & that is without me having anything else besides Chiplogic software & exhaust done on the car :=):

But you right they have changed the game , some are very strong on top

I know of cars that ran gas here in CT with no real problems.

Remember with cams you will always have the power, with gas it runs out- and its expensive to refill and its illegal to use on the road.

I doubt cams will offer the same gains as gas but it will make a huge difference and its just safer as not much can go wrong with cams.

Also if you are unhappy with the cams, you can just add the gas later.

@ Dean 20VT, you have gas in your car, it's the durban air, in jhb, an M3 is considerably slower:roflol:

Good advice,

Power is always there, would it not also be less costly & easer to roll back to stock if the need arises?:fencelook:

when i priced a Gas kit for my car it came to about 15k and this was a very safe and reliable system its impossible to get the same gains for anywhere near that money safely with anything else on an NA car (well cant say never i guess)

you have to buy alot of refills to spend more on Gas than what it would cost you to get the gains in another way...

Dude just change your diff to a 3.91 ratio and you will gain big for money spent and not stand a chance to mess up your engine. Most effective mod I've done

a 3.91 diff will effectively give you about 70Nm (flywheel) which is alot but a 100hp shot will make even more torque :)

then again the diff is really cheap

SR had a very well setup car so he can give you plenty tips :)
