Hi All,
Pretty new to the forum and was hoping someone could help.
I am busy with an E36 M3 build, the motor and gearbox were out the vehicle and I decided to transplant a 1JZ GTE and do a sort of reverse A90 Supra build.
I found a 1JZ (with a Getrag 260 out of an E34 535 as far as I can tell) for a decent price and picked it up. My issue is that the flywheel and pressure plate seem to be standard with a heavily worn "button" clutch (Im not a fan of these "button" clutches for normal driving). I have it on good authority that the flywheel bolts up to the JZ just fine, however Im not entirely confident that the pressure plate and replacement clutch will hold the sort of power (hoping for 400 nm)
I guess my question is two fold - (1)Will the pressure plate hold the torque, and if so what clutch should I use and (2) If I were to upgrade the pressure plate and clutch, what, if anything, would fit onto the standard flywheel.
Any comments or recommendations welcome.
