E36 headlight suppliers?

Hi folks

I'm taking ownership of my first BMW tomorrow (so excited!).

The car needs to have a headlight replaced, but the agents are charging R2500 per light which seems a bit steep.

Anyone know of a good generic make and/or suppliers in the Cape/Boland area?

I've read on this forum that people are saying one should stay away from Autostyle lights... any suggestions?

Many thanks,
J

What's wrong with the headlights? IIRC, you can replace the lens only on a E36 if that is broken - someone can correct me if I'm wrong ...

Welcome to the forum

You can try goldwagen, from what I have seen they sell e36 headlights that look pretty decent, but I can't really comment about the quality.

And you read right about autostyle........stay far away.

Welcome , if you are in the Cape you can try Goldwagen , and guys like Cliftons M3 centre etc . Autostyling do sell glass or plastic lenses , normally per pair .Your headlights should be Bosch , IIRC Depo are not bad as well . Good luck .

A friend of mine replaced his Jetta's headlights with Goldwagen ones. He's generally satisfied but the new ones do have stray stripes of light.
