E36 Fuel pump replacement

Hi guys,

I recently had to change my fuel pump and upon inspection, i noticed that the pump has nozzles for 2 lines but there is only 1 line connected. Can anyone inform me if there is supposed to be another line connected. I tried installing it as i found it but everytime i try starting the car it would just swing and petrol came squirting out of the nozzle with no pipe connected... Strange really as this was not a problem:nonono: before

I then checked my bro's setup in his e36 and it seems that the line runs into the level sensor on the left side of the tank??? So now i really don't know

Ok, did you not perhaps connect up to the wrong port on the new fuel pump?

The outlet side and inlet side stopped around? This could explain why it's spewing out petrol when you start the car...

A possibility but doubt it very much... i could only get the pump housing in the same position it came out and the pipe is just long enough to connect to the first nozzle...

Gona try some McGyver moves tomorrow and will see what happens...
