Regarding Battery drain , I had an issue with my E30 where the battery would drain out all the time .
Turned out it was the Flashlight in the Cubby that was draining the battery , Im not sure if your car has this light , I tried the torch by chance and it was really dim. So decided to remove it and keep it aside , Guess what , No battery drain . Car was probably trying to charge the thing over and over again .
Also im told that a faulty sat tracker / alarm could cause battery drain .
