Sucks dude.

If you dont come right, research GO-Tech aftermarket ECU's.. may be an alternative.

Also they should be plenty at scrapyards, but you will need to code them..

Second that!

Had a similar story on my Lancia. Stupidity

Much cheaper to replace with aftermarket ECU, unless you can find the specific ECU secondhand....

Easier to set-up, tune, the advantages are endless...... You probably gonna get an increase in power too :)

Sorry to hear man, but who told you that a 316 grows into a M3 if you water it?

Scrap ECU, retune magic and you're off!

i remember reading a thread where a guy took his car to the car wash, and his ecu got wet and the car was dead.

he struggled for some time than, cant remember whether somebody told him or whether he just decided, he kick started the car and the car magestically started.

the car was either a e36 or pre fl e46.

maybe you should try it, guess uve got nothing to lose.

ECUs have been known to survive getting wet.

Take the unit out, crack open the casing and allow to dry out.

You just never know with electronics......

Found a BMW technician here in CT with refurb units available. Getting it sorted today hopefully and the EWS/keys reprogrammed.
