e36 Bumpers

Howdy,

The bumpers on my e36 are not flush and have created a small gap between themselves and the body. I think its a common problem.
Should the bumpers be replaced or is it a simple fix?

Shot a lot!

if you remove the beeding, you will find the bolts that hold the bumper in place, what you can try doing is loosen the bolt near where the bumper is sagging and push the bumper back into place and while holding it in place start to tighten the bolt again....This is what I did on my previous E36.

This is the front bumper I am talking about, I havent tried on the rear bumper but I would imagine its exactly the same.

Good luck!

Take the beeding off and check if you can find bolts near where its sagging, I am pretty sure its the same procedure as the front bumper?

I eventually got tired of this problem on my old e36

ended up removing the inner fenders on the front and permanently rivited it in place
to the fender

a bit cowboy i must admit

but it worked like a charm

dont know too much about the rear one though

hmmm, seems to be a common and annoying problem with these models.
Will try the beading approach, respect Osisris.

Will have a look to see if the rear is the same as the front. I have sagging front and back so will have to do both.
Will keep you guys posted on how things go.
