E36 328i query

Halo everyone. Im new to this site. I have a bmw e36 328i and when i want to change gears the revs hesitate i little bit and then drops. Can anyone help me.

I presume it's a manual. ...maybe a sticky throttle position censor. ..to be honest I don't really know
But there's a lot of very well knowledgeable members here that will be able to help
