R15k is a very realistic price.

I bought my e36 328i engine Yesterday :)

I got quotes from R12-R15k all with a 30 day gaurantee.

My mechanic ended up getting the for me. He got me an EXCELLENT price compared to what I was quoted.
I just looked around online and singed up to some parts website, cant find it now but will keep looking.
You regsiter with them and tell them what you're looking for and then you'll get calls from agent with availabilty and prices.

Where are you situated?
If you're interested, i can ask my mech if he's ready for another install after mine, and I can get a price of engine + install. :)

I see, I have a mech who will do the install for me but just required a good source for the actual engine as i was cautioned against buying randomly due to the 328i engine being rare or rather hard to acquire.

Cost to recon 328i motor ? Such great engines , but country full of stuffed ones !!!

I was quoted R43k to recon the engine from scratch.

Are those prices second hand motors?

Second hand prices, for a new motor you are looking at upwards of R40k

Nissan Rb-25 2.5 turbo at R8000 second hand and box at R3000 makes 328i motor useful for making artificial reefs !!!! lol
R9500 for six pistons and R2500 for oil pump -far from R43k !!

R43K to recon the old motor and R40K for a new motor  If you gona spend that amount, might as well add a little bit extra and buy another E36 328i :hammerhead:

affilia1 is your 328i engine cast iron or aluminium ???

Prices are ridiculous. paid far less to rebuild my motor. New parts, even the block. Just find the connection. ;)

Do share the connections, so that others can benefit aswell
