So after having an E36 325i, I know they they are solid cars however I had a Manual.

An Auto is up for sale and I am seeing it at 15:30 today.

Are the Auto Boxes an issue with this cars?

Would this be an easy to sell car later?

I am seaching for a M3 but this seems like a good deal.

4 speed auto... the boxes are reliable but i hate them lol. Personally i would keep searching for an M3  unless this 328i is completely spotless and has an OEM Msport kit then its a different discussion

I am going to see it at 15:30 as thats the soonest the seller is free.

I do not mind waiting for the M3 to come along but this just popped up.

I also found a 318is Motorsport for sale which I wanted to call for:

the 328i looks cleaner than the 318i but personally for the price i would wait for an M3, all these cars are going to need some maintenance mainly suspension and a major service as a start, i would much rather do these items on an M car and have the enjoyment and power and the potential of increased value in a few years vs doing the above on a regular 3 series an not even being able to sell for the original purchase price at a later stage

Cool, Was what I was thinking also.

Will still go and see it any ways as I setup a time with the guy and see were he is at with his price. I think its a good buy at like 45k :sorry: But at 60k its a lot for a non motorsport version.

I would pay 75k for a clean 328 Msport Manual.

I am not entirely sure when BMW changed over from the alloy block to cast iron blocks on the 328i, as I find a lot of conflicting information on the net (general consensus is, post 1997 - it should have the cast iron block).. Just check what block the car has, as I recall reading about Nikasil issues with the alloy blocks, caused by high sulphur content in fuel, which affected ZA.

Will see what records he has and what he has done.

Is the car nice to live with as a daily? I am looking to use it to work for the next year then get a weekend car.

Do they give issues?

I assume this is a 1997 and registered 1998 as the beadings are not flat?

Won't be hard to make this an Msport. Some small work and origonal parts and its done.
Granted the return might be lower if the work is done right.

But 75k+ and you in M3 2Door money.

Yes sometimes I daily her, no issues whatsoever although that wasn't my intention when I bought her. Its a really solid planted car.

75K for 2 door m3 spells trouble bro. I looked at so many and I wouldn't go down that road. If your going to buy an m3, I would spend nothing less than 120k and that's still going to have some work to do.

At 75k id pony up a few more rands and make me an offer on my 328i convertible :biglol:

M3 that needs some work is fine. As long as it has good history.

Convertable is not for me.

Thanks, I need lots of luck.

If I do not buy a BMW for a daily then it would be a Toyota.
