It will not be worth the money whichever way you go with it, unfortunately. That is my opinion anyway.

Realistically you will see under 10kw and pay upwards of R4k for that.

I would say enjoy the car as it is and maybe fit another exhaust system to add to the excitement of a great inline six BMW :coolShake:

Thank you for your reply, might look into turbo now

ok some advise of value, I had my E36 unichipped with headers, full exhaust and intake whilst the peak power increase was in the 7kw range, the driveability of the vehicle changed drastically power being readily accessible at any range in the RPM. I also raced a few E90 325s and E46 330i's and ran in front every time from launch, might have been a slightly different outcome if it was a rolling run.

However boosting the M50 is an awesome option the blocks are solid and can take a nice beating. Do you have the vanos or non vanos engine?

Thats remarkable, im guessing you've got a 328i ??. I have a M50B25 which is a single vanos engine. My brother has the E46 330i, im very surprised that you was able to compete with that power.

I've got the 3.73 ratio diff in the car, it is exciting but power cant be felt. Cant tell whats the matter though. I had an issue with the VANOS piston which was stuck from the time I've got the car. I hope the car maybe takes time to reset adaptations to the new repaired vanos unit. Please advise if anyone seen such.

E36 325i single vanos aswell, I suspect it had more to do with the launch to be honest. Rolling runs would have most likely yielded different results

I would look at short shifter, chip, tune ,exhaust, m3 headers and M54B30 intake cam upgrade

A turbo setup is gonna cost you around 40-50k and if you do a cheap diy supuercharger setup probably like 20-30k which would probably cost the same as the above mentioned NA mods

I must give you an update of my cheap 328i mods. If I could, I'd send you a video. WhatsApp digits I can send the video to?

Would u mind starting a build thread when u start your project. So many times we look for info and advice and a thread ends mid completion. And possibly a link in this particular thread?

Just read the part about out running an E46 330i with a E36 325i. Stopped reading after that cos there's no way of coming back from that BS. Unless the 330i was running on 4 cyclinders. 170kw vs 140kw?? I think your 325 will need to be a helluva lot more than 100kgs lighter than a 330 for that statement to make any sense.

as said , wont find much power but the drive-ability will be MUCH better and will feel like a completely different car.

never read 1 review where a tuned NA 323/325/330 was not happy with it.

@FozeylEvoII on the forum and a few others saw my car run against multiple cars (E36s and E46s) at south side crew drags. I think Keegs is still active on the forum who ran me with his modded White 328i and also was behind by a few cars. :eek:mgwaiting:

328 or 330? 328's only have 1 KW more than a 325. A 330 is a slightly different animal, especially a healthy one.

Late update: The car responded well to the the vanos unit and is much smoother and quieter.
