Howzit Guys...

Ive got a E36 325i that I bought recently...
Enjoying every minute of it...

Only problem is the central locking has a problem. If I push the button down manually, it immediatly pops up again on all the doors...
The i disconnected the battery and it works fine, but only if the windows are closed....

Then if i park the car for the night, when i want to start it in the morning,t he battery is completely dead and i have to boost it to get it running again...

I noticed that my interior lights (Window button lights) are staying on permanently..Any help with this guys...Dont want to boost the car every morning...:hammerhead:

Oh, and its a new battery...

Your help will be much appreciated...

When locking the car do you turn the key whole way to the left and activate the deadlock ( doorpins and door handle will not open car from inside ) ?
Check the black plastic piece on the door catch on the body , push it by hand and check if lights go out . If it is worn the lights stay on when closing the door .
You can use the switch next to the steering to deactivate the windows and the lights see if battery is flat next morning .
Good luck

Thanks Raybimmer...i think it could be the door catches that is faulty, thats why the lights not turning off.I tried pushing in the little button on the door catch but lights still stay on even if i hold it in for 5 minutes or longer....

When i press the door catch button on the drivers side, i hear a relay clicking under the cubby, but if i press the door catch buttons on the other doors, there is no clicking sound fromt he relay...
Thats why i gathered that i should replace the door catches...

Hi!
I had the same problem, I changed my door striker (black small button that connect the door and body) and the problem was solved. Best of luck:clap:

Door striker on body may be same as E34 , make sure black button is not worn , it may look only a bit worn but it stuffs around .
Good luck:thumbsup:
