I've been doing a bit of research and found that the e36 318is bmw's for sale are more expensive then the e36 328i.

The 318is price ranges from R45K (standard) to R75K (Motorsport II) depending on condition and spec level.

The 328i price ranges from R35K to R60K at most.

I think it's got allot to do with the condition of the car in question
Paid R40 000-00 for my 318IS,it was it really good condition
But i swot it anyday for a 328 in same condition!:)

That's what i find hard to understand, maybe because it was the last model to come out of the factory with the "is" badge.

I've driven both and admire the husky 1.9 motor, but for the price they going for these days I rather buy a 328i and have some cash left over to spend with.

I believe its the idiotic guesswork associated with fuel consumption.

Consider your most likely target market for that kind of car.

1. Young guy that wants a BMW, prob daddies money.

2. Daddy more then likely recons that the 328 will be too heavy on fuel, maintance, and everything else, and that it will be too quick, but a nice mild mannered 318 is a good bet.

3. Then you have the guys that wants the "is" cause they heard that it was cool...

Those factors = supply and demand... demand = price ?

my .05 cents worth
