:roflol::roflol: This nearly killed me, choked on my lunch!! :roflol::roflol:

But in all seriousness, perhaps give us some more detail as to the symptoms?

Seriously tho, we need more info on the car. When was your last service. When did you last change the plugs, oil, air filter etc. These small things can make a massive difference.

What year model is the car? Have you diagnosed the car to see what codes have come up, if any. These things will help.

When you say she is not pulling like she used to/supposed to... what is different?

Well the thing is i got the car a few days ago,its a 95 model and the last service was on 131100 km shes on 140000 now,i read up on the performance figures and shes suposed to do 0-100 in just over 10s,im doing 0-100 in just over 13s....and thats not good enough for me. The car used to belong to a older couple so i dont knowbif its just drivin lazy or what..thus also affects my fuel consumption massily....

Does the e36 have throttle adaptions? Resetting those might help if it was owned by an old couple.

Hmmm my E36 was like that when I got it. Disconnect the battery overnight, next morning reconnect it, let it warm up and then take it for a spirited drive:thumbs:

Dude, 0-100 in 10 seconds maybe when she was new.

I've ran my old 330d (7.9s) against my old 2006 320d (8.1s) they were pretty much on par 330d would pull slightly ahead. So you cant just say because its old it shouldn't run to spec... his car only has 140 000km my 330d has over 400 000kms.

Check the service intervals, make sure it was serviced at least once a year. If not maybe change oil every 5000kms for a while. Cant hurt. And you could change the oil now. Also wouldn't hurt.

Is this for throttle adaptions? For the e46 all you have to do is turn the key to power the electronics, wait 10 seconds, turn the key off, wait 10 seconds, start the car and you're good to go. Made a huge difference on my e46.

Where you based? Reef or at the coast.

10 seconds at sea level. At the reef, you are losing 18% of your power due to density of air. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was 13 seconds up here. But I do believe the car needs a good service.

Do you have proof that during the service, all plugs and fluids where changed. IE. Do you have actual pay slips/invoices of the service. Does it say what items where replaced etc.

I would find the service history from BMW in Cape Town. Get a list of what is done... and from there, you can decide what needs to be changed. I would suggest a full diagnostics to begin with. Maybe a Dyno to find out how much power you are actually playing with and what the car started with, and then from there, along with the service history from BMW, find out what needs replacing.

On an older car like this, I wouldn't be surprised if the Spark Plugs, Coils and MAF sensor have not been changed in forever.

How is the idle? Does it jump then settle. Is it smooth or not?

I`m no motorhead, but in my honest opinion I`d give her one big lekker service, change all fluids, plugs, coils, air filter, petrol filter and so forth. And also maybe remove the tube in your airbox, I know people say it doesnt realy have a difference but more air means better flow so ya.

While my 94 316i was still running I kept up with some big motors on the forum, thing is paper says one thing, vin says another and motor speaks for itself.

Hope you get it sorted.
