I seriously need to know how to turn this off as it's moved from just be noticed to be being annoying. I've Googled all over and found info on newer models, but I can't seem to find any on the radio I got. Below is a pick of the radio.

Is the radio connected to the PC? The term for the speed/volume is called 'GAL'. Set it off or to '0'.

I should rather check the OBC? I have a in depth PDF about the OBC at home which I will look over tonight. Maybe that has some answers. I just assumed that the setting would be in the radio.

Doesn't seem like it's the OBC anywhere. I can have the OBC calculate my arrival time, but there is no easy way to set the speed sensitive volume. Stupid.

It should be one of the options when you press the MODE button for 10seconds to bring up the menu.

Have you tried the radio manual as i seem to remember seeing something about how to adjust the sound volume relating to the speed of the vehicle in the manual of one of my old 535i BMW's

I had a look through the manual, but didn't pick up anything like that. Maybe I missed it. Will look again when I get home.

Thake the model of the radio. and Google "GAL setting"

I remember a ton of Russian sites explaining it. the setting will be in the radio itself. Not sure who made your unit but it's either Becker, Blauwpunkt, Philips with a BMW badge on.

if I get some time later I will go through my old bookmarks, maybe I still have the link.

haha, I just need to get rid of that stupid phone cradle.

I had the car towed to a mechanic this morning after the clutch slave cylinder gave way. Will be having the Clutch and slave cylinder replaced. I just hope it won't cost an arm and leg. :(

Oish thats not cool, any signs that it was on its way out?

The old slave was replaced and the mechie who did the work said that my heavy clutch will most likely kill the new one in time. I guess today was it's time. I was planning to have the clutch done next month anyway. Only now I'll need a new slave cylinder too.
