Hz, all M5 owners/drivers(e34). Considering transplanting an M5 drivetrain into my Touring. Need some 'real world' fuel figures....Later

Compared to the 4.0 and 4.4 V8's I have owned they are not thirsty at all.

In a mixed cycle town highway and morning traffic I get 12.8L/100 which for a 20 yo 3.6, 232Kw engine is actually very, very good.

If one really uses the power it doesnt go above 16L/100

Typically 450km on its 90L tank. Although it usually takes about 70L to fill up again since i don't really let it go empty.

These cars can use fuel like nothing I have seen...

Turns out the petrol caps love to leak

On a serious note mine is currently on 17l/100km. The best I ever got was 10.1 l/100km, this was with highway driving.

Fuely M5 figures

Fuely is the best depositry of fuel consumption figures.

Average of about 12.5 l/100km
Tks for that link.....makes interesting reading. Not that far off what the std '93 525iT's are returning, might be worth it for the increase in 'towing' ability.

Because unless one is mental you can only use the power a fraction of the time before things go wobbly

On the e30 I get 20litres per 100km.
I do very little highway driving though.
