That is quite a few parts needed on this.

Have you seen this car in person Rick?
I wont mind buying it and repair it if it is still in a good condition?

Cheers

Havent been to look, but might be a good idea, anyone want to join me for a visit to see it?

I will. When do you want to go??

If I can clear up Sunday, then that would be cool, I wonder if the seller will be around then?

Don't have any definite plans for Sunday. Was thinking that if the weather was good I'd try and see where the leak in the fuel tank is. That said my finances is actually pretty rough right now so no new parts for a while :(

24 valves for a M5 , sure sir....they are only R350 each or some stupid value designed to reduce the parts salesman to a laughing clown .
Somebody can sell this car but can't take pics :fencelook:

You can just imagine my delight when my non-runner M5 I bought started and ran ok with just a few parts (Timing chain and gear).

If it hadnt, it would have been scrapped quick quick.
I recall getting a quote for a second hand S38B36 engine from Japan at a paltry R45K, excluding shipping for a 20 year old used motor..........:fencelook:

And then was offered a BMW rebuilt motor out of Dubai, only R65K excluding shipping.

I've spent too much already, but can only hope that as they dissapear off the roads these M5's will start to sell for what they are really worth (The clean ones at least)

I see on Gumtree someone in PE is selling a M88 motor for a e28 M5 for R16 000 . He has replaced all the valves and other bits etc. Price is not neg due to cost of spares .....
The joy of running a classic car.....costs when the motor needs work

Chris, you are scaring me here.......... Dont talk like that (R43K for valves)...eina

Well it was at the same time that an e30 dash cost R70k from the agents, so it might be different now :dunno:
