Think I'll replace the microfilter too while I'm at it.

Want picks of this 'cos I still have to do mine, but since I have a clutch pedal in the way I've not been able to muster the strength to crawl around my knees to get the old one out yet :mmm:

Lol I got pissed off yesterday because I was trying to find the bloody fan blower resistor don't know if it's the sword or the series type....and I can't find it :argh: so I just left it there.

What picks do you want? the location of where it is? or the whole process?

Just some general picks. I already have a good idea of hoe to get it out on a LHD car. Want to know the difference in a RHD car.

Phone Masterpart they said they don't have any cabin filters....phoned Silverton whom on their website state that they offer it but don't have any...phone SMG Canal Walk wanted R1400 incl vat (it's a set of two)....I'm like no it's fine. So I guess I won't be fiddling with the cabin filter anytime soon, maybe I'll import one...

Currently I'm busy trying to find where the blower fan resistor is...SMG wanted roughly R1400 for a new one.

On another hand, got great service from Chris in Part Sales @ SMG Cape TOwn...got like 15% discount on all the stuff I bought except engine coolant.

I recommend this guy!

My local Masterparts had filters, but it was a one piece filter and in every writeup I could find it was a 2 piece. So I don't think that it was the right thing which is another reason I haven't done it yet.

R1400 for a bloody filter. Shocking!

So if I can save you a few Rssss let me.

You go to your nearest Electrical appliance parts supplier.

Tesca rings a bell

You say "good morning sir"
"I am here to buy a cooker hood filter......it is a long sheet like material"
"It comes from a Defy Extractor"

The man will then give you an extractor filter which comes wrapped in a plastic bag and of which there is sufficient to do 4 filters from.

You will then pay him R100 and say "thank you"

You will then proceed to your house and you shall strip the material from the filter frame and recover it with the extractor material.

I hope it is clear if not pm me

I've already had mine open to try and see why the air flow is so terrible. Back then I didn't know the E34 had a micro filter. What I found was that someone had already tried to get in there and damaged the air duct and broke some plastic cover which I believe is the cover you need to remove to get to the filter. Now that I think about it, I think I could see the radiator through the hole in the plastic cover. I don't recall seeing a filter. Now I'm curious. Will have another look see over the weekend.
