e34 525i 1995 Oil Leak

Morning team,
i drive a bmw e34 525i 1995 model. my car has oil leak(engine oil).
i really need your advise,where to check? i have replaced tappet cover gasket but still...

The most common place is the oil sump. That gasket can easily be overtightened and lead to leaks. Also, check the chain tensioner spring nut on the side front of the engine.

The valve cover is then also a place you should check.

There are a few places it could be leaking.
I have the same engine and bellow are ones i had to deal with in the past.

1. Valve Cover Gasket
2. Front Crank Shaft Seal, there is a rear main seal as well but i haven't done mine yet.
3. Oil Filter Housing Gasket
4. Sump Gasket

Start with a clean engine - clean it thoroughly using a grease remover like Prepsol and check daily if you can spot the leak.

no my friend i only replaced oil filter housing gasket but still there is a leak then on weekend ill target oil sump gasket..

hi boss thanks a lot i don't have any oil leak, firstly i had to clean engine and i drove around then i sported an oil leak a clean leak it was coming from oil filter housing.i got one from spares shops,but i decided fixed everything....

o ring on the dipstick tube

BMW 525i E34 - Hard to start in the morning, plz help me!


I have a BMW E34 M50 1995, it's nice on road for long trip. But it's very hard starting in early morning. I always try to start 7 to 10 times, sometimes it take over 20 times starting. And when it's run, everything's ok, and easy to start next time if temp clock show the middle value (engine warm)
I've replace almost kind of filter, new spark plug, , clean ICV (it's still running), test fuel pump... and almost idea that i can research from this forum and the internet. But i cannot make my car easily to start anymore.
I find the fuel pump donot work when i open the key (not start). And when I start engine, without fuel pump fuse work strongly. I don't know how health of my fuel pump. I heard someone say that fuel pump will run when open the 2-position key, without start engine. And I can't understand what's true???
Please help me solve this problem. I and my parents need this car for work. Thanks so much!
