I wasn't around for the actual dyno, but will post some pics and a vid when I go show a friend of mine the car. Oh and it has 280 duration cams in, another contributing factor to the noise :biglol: License dics says it weighs 1220kg.

Just dug up this little tool in the garage... My dad used it when he had his E34 525i. Seems I might find some use for it after all

Thx, Pity the car isn't mine anymore. Will get the new owner to join the forum so we can still see her in future

So at long last I scanned the dyno figures and they used the more correct 1.007 correction. A bit weak IMO but its a start.

I was thinking the same I expected more from that motor but hey like you said its a good start. How's the state of the tune it might just need a push in the right direction.

Any case enjoy her and the e34

This is the post tune result. The motor is originally 4.91L and has been redone by the previous owner (Now a 5.05L). He just ran dry with funds and it was a bit of a forced sell. So after the initial 1500km run in I took her in to Sabie at Nitro, he rejetted, tuned and dyno'd her. For a 5L by any standard its pretty poor performance, but bearing in mind 176wkw in a E30 is pretty lethal

True the power to weight makes up for it.

If it makes peak torque at 5000 then that cam must be very wild.
STD 302 V8 - the torque peak would be at 3500rpm and the power would start dropping at 5000 where yours is still climbing after 6000. Impressive.
BTW - a 325iS makes 125 ish WHP on that dyno = 90WKw which is WAAAYY less than the 176. So that is really not bad.

Can't see the pick as i'm browsing on my phone, but, and I might be way out here, doesn't the 540i make similar power at the wheels? It might just be the dyno is a bit stingy, but i think that figure is good if an IS only makes 90 on the same dyno. You must have huge grip problems :mmm: :)
