"iS" is 100% totally a gangster car

Yebo. I can tell you stories. Debadging, or putting a 320 badge on wont fool them either...done all of that...one is constantly at risk...no matter the condition of the car. Worse experience: My brother and i dropped my sister and her friends at a function. Gangsters (3) approached us, neatly dressed, and demanded that we hand over the key. I asked why...he told me it has been pre-ordered. I said go fly a kite....they made a couple of calls in my presence telling whoever, that the "order" is ready for delivery...we drove away so quickly... they still tried to stand infront of the car...but they clearly did not want to damage the car.:nonono:

The big gangsters car is the anaconda (740i)

Sunday's at the Austerville pool should give you an idea of how much they love those cars

Restore it but keep it in the garage and show it occasionally. But not as a daily drive.

I have every SnS except first 3 issues . :bravo:
Check out Magesh on youtube , then you will know why every wannabee driver wants to steal an e30 . Can take being kept on rev limiter till rear tyres are stuffed , so to save engine please make sure back tyres are never 100% tread !!
Now that 325i rusting away needs a new body .....or should it rather rust away ????

If you would think gangster you have to go for the following

Black Merc S500 (Yakuza)
BMW 750I (Russian Mob)
Caddilac (PIMPS)
ETC......

You cant really put a 325is as an icon gangster car.

thats exactly my thoughts as well !

Editors didn't thumb-suck any thing. It was as voted by Speed and Sound readers/fans on Facebook.

Car forums would have been nice as well to have the option to vote etc.

Not all persons are facebook crazy , my two cents worth

What wrong with SnS from a BMW viewpoint is that content and features are directly opposite to what makes for awesome BMW mods, BMW mods being classy, understated yet aggressive, whereas SnS is all about over the top, tacky and common.

You SIR hit the nail on the head.

Was in Pretoria 2 weekends ago, within 15 mins of arriving (Lynwood area) I was pulled over by cops for a 'random' search...I was with my bro and he'd been drinking...had to get out of the car and assume the position, cops only searched us and the car for weapons, and couldn't care less about the empty hunter's dry bottles lying on the floor. And their demeanour was cold, and there were clearly on edge...

And then 30mins after that on my way to Centurion, cops pull me over AGAIN; 'random' search...cop approaches my car, I can see him 'bridging' his weapon in the mirror, I keep my hands on the steering wheel. Again we get out and assume the position. But now I have to answer stupid questions about where I'm from (Swazi licence plates)...actually it was more like an interrogation...again no concern about the alcohol.

Was in Mamelodi on Sunday afternoon, I might as well have been driving a Ferrari...

E36 is GANGSTER, period...I'm looking for a Yaris as a daily driver now...

Not entirely true, put it next a proper e30 M3 you would probably not even notice the 325is.

Well, to an enthusiast, yes...

@Nabs... Agreed

Bottom line is that in the "kaasi", Gusheshe is king.

Well the E30 325is is definitly gangster however the 10th place position can be attributed to the lack of body space in the boot. A good gangster car should be able to fit at least 3 bodies in the boot without sagging too much. However due to its size and performance its a good getaway car for cash in transit and police escapes.

You think? The iS is easier on the eyes. Plus I like my BMW's to sound like BMW's and not like Hondas.

Yes I do, it was the proper top of the range e30, it is the real M3 and it is beyond cool, and if I had to choose I would take the M3 without a moments hesitation.

I think the E30 M3 is iconic, certainly. But the 325iS is more exclusive, being an SA-only car. There was an article comparing the two in the BMW magazine, and IIRC the tester preferred the South African BMW.

I'd have the 325iS every time - it makes a better noise, and looks better in my opinion.

Mmmh...tough one, but think I gotta go with the 6 potter. The sound of an iS is pure porn.....:praise:
