Hi Guys,

I recently converted my auto 325i to manual, but i am having problems with the starter, i replaced it twice but it is still breaking, but the housing seems to breaking at the nose of the starter, and when the car is started it gives a whipping start. Guys could you advise me on what could be the problem please?

You might need a reduction starter. What year model is your car? Did you move the CPS to the front or did you keep it on the bellhousing?

I also made my car manual about 2ish years back. PM me

Plastic bumper 325i with CPS on the bellhousing?... Doesn't sound right. Are you 100% sure?

Did you replace the flywheel when converting? Did you check the condition of the pilot bearing and the flywheel ring gear?

When you replaced the starter did you put in a chrome bumper starter or reduction starter? Is the clutch release fork the correct width?

Check this out and go through each step correctly, the auto/manual conversion can go very wrong very quickly
