hi all, few months back bought a 325 Cabriolet E30 , have a slight issue at moment..
car was running fine, left car without starting it few days and battery died, got it jumpstarted, and very idiotic of me left it to idle for about an hour, noticed alot of water on the ground, immediately switched car off and the water temp was just under red, .... a confirmed overheating. got a friend of mine who is a mech to fill up the water, bled the system till no bubbles, even put anti freeze, same story, car overheating on idle or even on driving.
next day removed radiator, had some muck here and there, got it cleaned up and fitted it back on, still same thing, 1 thing i found odd from the start the top hoses to radiator are very hot, white the bottom 2 are cold...i would assume a water flow problem or a clogging, the hoses are fine, radiator is fine, no thermostat in the car so it could not be that, i need to check the water pump out..mech thinks its the head, but he wants to check up the water pump first...
if its the head, i would like to give it to a bmw specialist, some 1 honest and reliable and not so expensive....any advice as to the best mechanic or garage?
im based in athlone, gatesville side..
thanking you all....
