E30 318i Clicking like crazy

Was wondering if anyone might know how much 4 Fuel injectors for 1991 318i M40 would set me back?

I'm planning for the future. Trying to decide if it's worth keeping the 318i.

BMW wants R1900 for one injector...
And about R450 for one lifter. My car takes 8...

The guy from BMW said that doesn't think it's injectors giving kak. He did say that I have to replace my lifters and probably rocker shafts as well to prevent new lifter from going bad again.

What I want to know is, should I replace the rockers and rocker shafts to stop them from messing up my new lifters? I presume the Rockers are all on the shafts... so I can't really see how simply replacing the shafts will stop the rockers from messing up my lifters.

I'm not 100% sure how all these things fit together, that's why I ask. :hammerhead:

So I went to see my mechie today and he had a good listen to the engine. He doesn't seem to think it's the lifters making the noise, but might actually be the injectors (or maybe just one). To be sure though I have to book the car in so they can investigate more closely and hopefully discover where the clicking is coming from.

sux man, cant you get hold of some 2nd hand injectors from a scrap yard and have them popped in to see if there is any difference?

I'll go the second hand route for sure. It all depends on what exactly is making the noise. The car still drives the same as far as I can tell. I'll just have to book the car in and see what's what.

Call Bosch or a Bosch distibutor. I think most of the beemer injectors and electronics were/still are manufactured by Bosch. Should be much cheaper than the dealers.

Your right... I forgot about that. It says bosch on my AFM, not 100% about the injectors though. I'll find out.
