Hi ouboet, this is not an online shop where you storm in and "buy/get" answers of the shelf....:nonono:. Do a proper introduction in the New member section, tell about your car, yourself etc. Lots of very helpful advice available.

hello again bru. Ok yet again my reply comes with what ever little knowledge I Have. I had the roughly the same problem on an e23 i had, If i'm not mistaken the device in the tank which you can see in the boot is a fule sending unit or a pre-supply pump and i think it acts as float to give you a fule level reading as well. The actual pump is under the rear right wheel. I think you're right with diagnosis, that unit in the boot is key player in the fule supply system without it I'm sure the fule pressure would be much lower then normal. Your best bet is get hold of one and install it asap. I think they priced roughly at about R2500 to about R3000 try to go new if you can. when you do install it check the filters out as well, it would be a good idea to change them. when you've done that all , if the fule pump is making a loud humming noise you may have to change that too.The rough idling and loss of power is likely due to that, however if they do persist after to install the tank unit and clean up the line, it may be caused by air coming in, a vacuum leak, faulty AFM and so forth. I'm not sure what set up you're running so I cant be sure. Some of the components are shared with the e30,e28,etc. Should make them easier and cheaper when you get hold of them. Guys like QSV,Danny's and so forth could help you with getting them. Bmw tend to be really expensive and should be a last resort in many cases, but giving them a call can't hurt, sometimes (very seldom) they can be abit cheaper. It's all down to you. weather you'd like to go OEM or non OEM. welcome to the world of owning an old BMW and good luck sorting it out.
IF I'M WRONG, HELP ME OUT GUYS.

fit a high pressure in tank pump and remove the external pump. will be the best long term remedy for you. i cannot tell you how many of these i have done on the e30's...lost count long ago

Ok, I've literally learnt alot here. thanks guys. and don't worry about ebay it's all good and safe. i use it at least once every two months. just a suggestion. set up a paypal account, and use that to pay it's safer and the cover you if your package doesn't come etc.... use it as far as possible. although most sellers use it too, some don't it's not all that bad going other ways I just prefer paypal. otherwise it's all good.
