E12 aerial

Hi got more questions , your all gonna be pissed off after a while but I'd rather ask than make a screw up so here goes
is the aerial on my E12 meant to he electric ? I was wiring in a new radio today but didn't come across a wire for it, Mine is stuck in the open position and it doesn't go down manually either I maybe need a new one ?

They are mounted on the passenger side next to the door. U do get electric ones, know the deluxe e12 had one however normally it's a manual one that's so dirty it's stuck, difficult to get loose and to find a replacement
