E12/8 528i

My younger son (almost 16 years) is set (his mindset and my money...) on either an E24 or E12/8.

The problem is that he has a very specific build requirement..ie. Sapphire or Diamond Black Mica on Black Leather. Whichever car that I buy for him will have to be stripped completely to respray.

I have given a 528i (by a good friend). However, the car does need a lot of attention.

I do have about 24 months to do this, aside from a gazillion other project cars.

Having said that, I have last owned an E12/8 528i (oddly enough was Solid Black on Black cloth) back in 1996.

I am open to suggestions on keeping the clean lines, some sort of break between the the Black....and Black. Therefore the Shadowline trim will probably not work work.

I am not going to interfere with the OEM suspension (as yet).

He also has a specific rim style in mind.

Thanks in advance

After seeing your pic, I can admit that those rims do look elegant and conservative, with being 'loud'

Please do pm more details on your wheel setup. Many thanks.

The bigger the wheel the more the front suspension shimmy.

If you go above a 17 you shall encounter all sort of suspension problems which will need to be modified out.

I am currently struggling to neutralise a set of 18s .

Sounds like a good project and compliments to your son.
