Has anybody come across a decent priced intake for the e92 V8 engine.

Do you think the std intake is still the best ?

I have X- pipe but not chipped yet.

Gruppe M is the best but is also the worst priced :hammerhead: I know Xcede is bringing in the Envy Full carbon fiber system which is 20k.

As for the AFE and Macht Schell they are decent and give you the about the same power as the other at a better price, however you won't get a better engine bay appearance like the others. The AFE system does get expensive if you take the whole kit incl. the aluminium top cover.

However their gains are minimal, i personally think its not worth it. Go for a software upgrade and let that x pipe work even more. The standard intake is a beauty on the M3, it a ram air intake type system and sucks air from two points, just change the filter to a KNN or BMC high flow filter and may be get a set of RPI intake scoops.

AFE and Macht Schnell make a decently priced intake. Expect to pay R6-8k approximately after shipping and duties. Even comes with a new charge pipe.

I'm not aware if anyone imports them. They pretty cheap so bringing them in shouldn't be a problem. I'll call import parts in Jhb and check with them also Revo at Rennzport.

I did phone Autostyle in Durban but they don't know when they'll be getting the KNN ones, i'm prefer them as i haven't used BMC in the past.

Probably ATS motorsport "KNN distributor SA" can help us out with the KNN as it only went recently into production, i'll let you know if they have stock.

Check out this link for RPI and BMC combo :

I had the rpi scoops and filter.
Filter sounded good , not too sure if the scoops did anything at all
Bought them direct from rpi

Hi Anile8

Do you still have the rpi scoops? If you do, are you willing to sell them? :)
