Hi guy's , i don't know if this has been covered ? there is a lot of different opinions on dyno's . which are the best one's and most accurate in gauteng ? some say fr&r, other say kar, my opinion is divided can we get some info on this ? :thumbs:

A Dyno is never going to be 100% accurate. They are meant as a tuning tool, to see the difference in power when tuning a car. This is best done on the same day with same ambient temperatures etc.

Also, there is no point comparing two different dyno's. Try keep it on the same Dyno and relatively close ambient temps and barometric readings. This way you can judge the difference better.

Choose a dyno that suits you and stick with it. Most guys on this forum use KAR. Hope this helps.

So many people have used KAR and FR&R as references.
But dyno's are dyno's, as Crash mentioned. I have had a variance of 15whp and 22nm's on the SAME dyno, so there are alot of factors to it all.
Best to dyno pre-install and the same day dyno again

engine dyno is quite accurate,

I agree with the above, although, doing the dyno on the same day , just midday and evening can affect the numbers and the car...

Just treat it as a guide, it will indicate major increases and losses, dips and peaks, not much else.
