Was wondering whats the avarage price for a dyno and where woud be the best place to go???

Whats the price to DECAT???

The average price around here in Cape Town is R250 per dyno run and about R600 for a Decat.

The decat itself will give you a nice gain in power. Expect anything from 5kw up to 12kw. It will also give you a nice sporty exhaust note and improve fuel consumption and throttle response. With regards to the tuning bit i think you will need to install a chip. To mess with the cars fuel/air mixture and ignition timing u need to install a chip and you can get some nice gains from that. Don't know if they will be able to get any power by just putting the car on the dyno and tweeking a few things.

You can visit any PowerFlow, Saltriver or Bellville for the decat. The chip i did with our forum sponsor Goch and Cooper. They are located in Brackenfell

You can flash the existing ECU but to get maximum power you need to chip

a dyno involves strapping a car to a dynometer and measuring the power output, thus any car can be dyno'd, in order to get more power things have to be changed/chipped/removed/added/whatever

so in your case you can have to car dyno'd to measure output and get say 100kw on the wheels,

then have the de-cat done,

put it back on the dyno and measure a increased output of say 103kw on the wheels..

nope, not much you can set on a modern beemer.. except maybe reset the adaptation values, doubt it will make a big differance.. to change setting significantly the ecu needs to be remapped/chipped
