Durban Rain

Anyone affected by the rain today?

My friend was caught in it , His M-sport 420d Grand Coup had water up just below the window line in Springfield park, Car was parked off in a parking area , It wont start anymore starter just turns but the car wont start. There also water inside the car. Its now parked off . So I dont think it looks very good.

Surprisingly my E46 didn't have much trouble driving through the door sill and sometimes bonnet high water .

Apart from the other cars I saw a few MLs and X5 cars stuck which was surprising .
Lots of mess and damage caused today.

Water doesn't work well with electronics, sadly the F series has a host more than the older e series... As for the x and ml they are just as prone to water damage because of the electronics

I saw a couple of photos, its pretty bad. But I guess it goes both ways because we need the rain.

Yup , I was very surprised when he said his cars not starting anymore , I accused him of dropping his key in water lol

I wonder how an electric I3 would fare in such a situation , his cars now parked off , Wonder if it would start up in the morning, There was another really good condition, E34 5 series next to him with the same problem , wouldn't start .

I just saw some pics of a new range rover stuck under the la lucia bridge with water over its roof.

Looks like there's going to be a lot of cheap water damaged cars coming on to the market very soon.

We do need rain , but im told that its raining in the wrong places . Hope the dam levels rise a little though. This water restriction device that they have attached to out mains is killing me :(

I wouldn't try to start a car which might have had water near the engine.
Rather have it towed and have it checked out and fluids drained.

Had a double punture at 5am this morning. Went over a tree stump that was on the m4 just before Virginia.
Swopped vehicles and used my chevrolet utility, Almost got stuck at Virgin Active Mt Edgecombe with this afternoon..
