very nice power but let's remember this is at the coast .
so on the highveld you will lose +/- 7% so you looking at 280 wkw :clapper:

valid point when comparing a Durban car at altitude, however the widely accepted dyno in JHB is KAR and that dyno operates on a fixed 30% correction factor...

also these are graphs from June this year and were done back without any "dyno" prep like spraying coolers and strategically based fans. Just 2 large sized buddy's in the boot to keep the wheel spin to a minimum.

30% correction does nothing. These cars make the same power on an uncorrected dastek loading dyno.

My M3 made 554kw on 0% correction in durban & made 452kw at KAR with 30% correction.

The turbo cars will make at least 15-20 kw less up here, simply running outside the optimum efficiency of the compresor map.

I've dyno'd N54's at sea level and up here and they will ALWAYS make more power and exit higher at sea-level.

Having said that, that is still good power.

Well from what I heard, when the JHB cars (M135i's) got to Durban they got the sneezes and limp modes.... :YesNo:

hopefully this December period they get a chance to do some scientific testing in the canefields and check the 1km legs they got?

Can't post on this forum, they will think it's advertising as we were once upon a time forum sponsors on this forum.
For the tuners that know us and there are many... trust me it happened!

I agree fully with you that a Highveld tuned car does not guarantee it running at the coast. We recently sent a PNP unit down to a fanatic at the coast and after a week of adapting the M135i remained miserable and unstable.
This unit then came back and was offered to me.I installed and what a difference to standard. The Km exit speed went up from 225 to 242km/h and a staggering 12.63 at 188km/h.
This means that a perfect highveld pnp unit is rubbish at the coast.Even though these units intervene on maf, manifold pressure and fuel pressure they cannot deliver on the fuel requirement for the coast.Evidence of this is also borne out by the fact that my car is undriveable under wot when the fuel level is below half.
I can also remember that when as Tarlton club we used to hold meetings in Margate i would have to increase my injector settings by at least 20%.
