So, DTM has been in mid season cool down and continues again this weekend with the NorisRing race.
BMW currently is winning the constructors championship with a big lead with 177 points over Mercedes 126 points and Audi's 101 points. BMW-Team-Schnitzer is leading the teams championship with 81 points, Mercededs team STIHL / AMG Mercedes is 2nd with 67 points.
Bruno Spenglar is tied first with Audi's Mike Rockenfeller at 59 points in the drivers championship. This after the last race where BMW struggled to get in the points, and Mercedes finally getting a car on the podium this year.
This next race is going to be exciting as hell. If you cannot catch it live, look for DTM international on youtube and you will find full replays of the entire race and qualification in English on this channel. where you hardly ever see any overtaking - in F1 races are generally only won in the pits and on strategy. We can thank the FIA for killing off the ITC which gained popularity in the early to mid 90's. As most teams had pulled out due to the FIA hogging most of the revenue the ITC was abandoned. The new DTM though is the next best thing since the ITC in my opinion. I will be following it more from now on. Well done to BMW.
