Yesterday me and some friends went to Camps Bay as it was a lovely day in Cape Town. Onto our next destination we are driving in the right lane. A guy and 3 passengers in a Hyundai 1 ton truck in the left lane decide to turn right without looking behind them. I tried to break and hoot but by that time it was too late. He hits me from the left hand side and i have to guide my car past parked cars and a woman trying to enter the same road. Luckily i missed them all.
Jumped out the car and was swearing and asking what the guy was thinking trying to turn into a street when he is in the far left lane??? His response was he had his indicator on and therefore i shouldn't have been there and he is not in the wrong. He was looking for a place and thats why he turned. Almost lost my cool but tried to keep it together. Ask him if its his car and he says yes. Asks if he has insurance and he says no.
Police only arrived 45 min later. In the photo you can see i was right next to him when he suddenly turned and hit me. His bumper snagged my frond fender and basically tore all the way to the back. Only his bumper fell off. You can also clearly see the arrow on teh road indicating you must go straight and NOT turn. You can also see how close i was to the parked cars.
Just glad everyone is okay. But still very upset over my car
