vanos seals have to be replaced when doing the rattle repair for more info see Double Vanos Seals for more info on why this rattle even exists CLICK

they attach to a vise so you can hold the vanos piston without damaging it they actually very cool i want to take some of my own pics because im sure alot of people will find it very useful in their home workshops for other stuff :rollsmile:

Hey and welcome to the forum :rollsmile:


the rattle kit contains spacers to eliminate the rattle at the vanos piston it is advisable that you change the seals when you do the rattle kit because it takes almost no extra work and the old seals will almost definitely need replacing anyway... the soft jaw vise liners allow you to grip the vanos piston to install the rattle kit without the risk of damaging the piston

Thanx Maranor got the Vanos kits you sent me :ty::ty:

but the vice pads where useless they broke one of my Vanos pistons fortunately I had a spare and I made Vice pads out of some nice soft Pine blocks the gripped the pistons nicely and did not damage or break any of them

how do you mean they broke the piston? you would be the 1st that had a problem with them...

please give more details so I can work out what happend
