What would be least risky? 3l petrol, or diesel. is it obvious that the gearbox or turbo will go?
look, it is possible to pick up one with about 180000/200000km, 2002/3/4 for that price. i think.....or are they all crack jobs? but i want a white with black interior, and the 19 inch honeycomb type mags...
wahts worse? buying a car that that has had no trouble, or buying one with the turbo and gearbox replaced already by bmw. btw, i have found one like this '180km. full house, 2004, R150000 (a bit more than my budget) 20 inch new tyres. satnav. bulletproof windows lol.....wrong colour and mags though....should i just buy an xtrail for the same price with low mileage and less uncertainty?

As for the price, I don't think it's unrealistic as that sounds very close to what guys may be getting as trade ins.

If you go for the diesel in auto, make sure you have R22k extra for a gearbox rebuild, you will need it sooner or later...

thing is...........where can i get such alot of car for 110grand? thats why i want to buy it..plus i'd still experience the same ride as the 1st owner did after having borrowed so much money??...the buying a nissan part was a joke, but in all seriousness, surely a german car that started out past R500000 should outlast others...ok gearbox....suspension....aircon....what else could go wrong???yes, i believe that a dealer wont even give you R110000 for a 2002/3/4 model so why am i not finding my exact spec?
alternatives with equivalent size comfort and premiums would be appreciated.

Yes i do,i do detailing on all their cars.Car is in good condition all round.Only thing missing is the drivers side mirror.I just can't understand why he can't sell it at that price,it's a give away.Personally i think its too cheap hence people tend to wonder why lol.I suggest to go have a look for yourself and take it for a spin :thumbs:

Other issues are gearbox and transfer cases which are big ticket items, but no, you will not get such value for such an amount of cash.

ok......decisions decisions decisions......now i'm offered a 2006 model for 225k, with 116000 on the clock. pros: newer. lower mileage. drives better than the 2003 model???(does it) . cons: will take a bath after 1 year. same chances as gearbox injectors etc going
option 2: a 2002/3/4 model for about R120000. pros: same drive and consumption and comfort.almost same looks. no bath after a year of driving. cons: high mileage. big chance of big repairs. big chance of small repairs

The 2006 was the improved model. The engine has more power and is more reliable. I went through this at decision time and went for the newer one. It just looks, feels and drives better. Plus I went for the sport pack. Looks good drives kak. Big wheels tramline the whole time. I swear even the going over the painted lines it wants to follow them!!!
