the good thing is now a have replaced all the diff bushes... had to get tools made for it tried with washers 1st they just bent like they were rubber so got some stuff machined worked perfect :) need time i wont even try ill just get the right stuff machined from the start...

after the diff was out i could see the front two bushes did not look so good so ordered some when i pulled the bushes and compared them too the new ones i could see the holes in them were quite oval so now im really glad i replaced all :)

you mean where it connects to the diff? had that universal joint replaced end of last year... but i did notice alot of grease around it but i thought it was normal... maybe i should spin it some more and try see if it get hotter than the rest of the diff

clean off nicely and try spray some sort of color paint (washable or Illuminous paint:thinker:) on it - they get hairline cracks or they start tearing form the inside out.

what what what  i dont get this paint thing... do i spray it then rub it to see if any cracks show up from the dirt collecting it them?

it would definitely be a good thing to check this out before i go and swap the diff again...

Yeah - its an old trick....bright colored water paint will stay in the cracks...on any material. Ideal if you can get hold or anything that is luminous and you get a black light - waammmm you will see cracks that will scare you. this is also a good trick to find hairline cracks on aluminum heads.
Must be clean though.

just an update prop coupling looks good :)

took the back plate off the diff that was on the car and found some nice shiny metal shreds in it... seems like the input bearing has gone i cant move it by hand the output shafts move quite easily

got the other diff in now noise is gone :)

quite handy to have a few diffs laying about... good thing i did not sell the other 3.38 diff i had :)
