does anyone do reliable hybridization of n54 stock turbos

Anyone running hybrid stock n54 turbos with bigger wheels ect?
Is there anyone around that does this reliably?
I have read KrS24 gain 80whp on hi revs with hybrid turbos over completely stock turbos. And that was on 15psi... If i remember right were completely stock turbos had to boost 22psi to make almost the same power level.

RB or Pure turbos should be the way to go!

Any locals shops that are any good? Rb and pure stage one are prone to failure

Maybe give Turbo Direct a call. They have the equipment and parts to do this and have done it on other platforms.

So a couple things to be understood about making hybrid turbos...

If your going to take a stock turbo and machine out the housing to accept a 14T/15T wheel but still run the standard center housing and exhaust wheel then your not going to have a great deal of reliability.

To upgrade the center core from TD03 to TD04 family is not an easy bolt in/out process. The exhaust manifold housing must be laser cut and removed and a new flange welded on to accept the bigger core.

The new set up must then be balanced to spec. i am not saying it cant be done reliably locally but i have not heard of any local guys actually spending any time swapping the core out.

Thats a pity. I think allot of n54 crazy fans would buy them. Thanks allot for all that info made me think.
