After trying out different options, I'm a firm believer of the stock airbox with a performance filter. The stock airbox has been designed with purpose built venturi's etc

My car made 228kw with stcok airfilter and airbox, changed the filter to BMC filter, car made 222kw,same dyno was used, day conditions similar as well,im maybe going to try the K&N and see what happens.

But a cone adds that nice sound that all the VW Citi golf drivers have.. and you know nothing beats a citi with a cone filter

I dont think that heat shield is going to be efficient...Its not really shielding any headt from anywhere.

more so, If its made of steel ( or what ever metal ), its going to get hot as hell and might even make the air coming past hotter.

Cause then it shields from all sides & then the top fits snug against the bonnet

Just another 2 pics

No offense, but if you can afford to buy a M3 - why not go the extra bit to get a proper intake system? Most only run to a couple thousand rand anyways. Don't go the extent I did.

I'm a perfectionist, but I think was worth every cent in my car. I feel much better knowing my engine looks as good as the exterior.
