had a guy by a sensor from me for his 320d Sunday passed.

He calls me now telling me, " my mechanic says the part doesnt Fit ". not that it doesnt work but that it doesnt fit.

So i tell him its impossible. i checked the part numbers using vins of both the parts car and the customers car and its identical..

He says, " I dont know, it just doesnt fit. "

so i tell him no problem, i have another one, come get it.

His response, " no the mechanic already organised something ".

So im like ok cool..

Ask the mechanic for a side by side image of my supplied sensor and the one the mechanic got. so that i can refund him mos..... Still Waiting

Asked him to get the mechanic to call me..... Still waiting.

He just wants his money back..
I dont have an issue with refunding him, But something dont seem right here

The way i see it, he:

* Either found the part cheaper elsewhere
* Tested my part and realized his mechanic misdiagnosed the issue
* He installed mine and trying to return his faulty one back to me.. (I have Marked my part so i will know)

i know he has the same engine as the parts car... lol...
He even bought an Auto gearbox from me that worked fine on his engine.. LMAO

Why must people be like this???

Should i Refund him? if i see he is returning my part.
Or
Should i tell him to take a hike.

My oldest friend had one of the biggest spares in Salt River he would call this idiot a "germ" and just refund his money so long as the part he sold him was the part he was returning and he had his slip ………. not worth all the frustration for a fking "time waster" :fencelook:

If the part is 100% the same as when he got it from you then the refund is in order.

My guess is the sensor wasn’t the problem and when he got back to the mech he found the problem and fixed it.

Guess the “germ” can pay his idiot tax in wasted petrol.

I showed him the part numbers identical on his vin to mine...

no the story is EXACTLY AS YOU PREDICTED!!!!!

They installed the part and His mechanic misdiagnosed the issue...

I told him sorry, No refunds.
if he insists on ignoring my ad that states no warranties/Guarantees on parts that work fine as im not a dealer, he can bring it back and i will refund him 50% since he and his mechanic handled and Fitted the part. I will not feel comfortable selling it to someone else as i do not know where it was stored or how it was handled.

So lets see

Dont these "Germs" knowthe truth always comes out?

I hear you

i have the tendency to prefer avoiding the drama and just give money back..

I mean, whenever i by a part and its not my issue, i accept that it was my mistake and dont go running back to parts place for my fault.. Eish

This is the Main reason i dont like selling stuff..

Sorry man. Not a pleasant experience. I saw this various times in retail. Germ comes in and buys something, find it cheaper elsewhere and brings a used and damaged item back claiming it doesn’t work.

Different industry but the germs stay the same.

Sensors are electrical/electronic. Midas, etc all have the policy that you can’t return it if used. That’s why they claim it doesn’t fit I guess?

If he had come back and said "hey, my mechanic actually misdiagnosed the problem and the part wasn't required. Any chance I could get a refund?" the situation would have been much different.

So many years ago I was a senior retail manager for a once very large music and DVD store.

At the time I got a call from the senior regional inquiring if I had received any complaint from a client with XXXXXXXX name.

I responded with a straight 'NO' and then asked what the issue was?

She had apparently ordered an item from the online store which was actually only an inquiry if the item was available, she had received no follow up from said online agents and had finally made contact with regional management.

She then in a very unprofessional manner claimed that she had spoken to a manager from the closest store, that specific store being my main store - I was overseeing three others at the time as well. I was also being ,groomed for a regional position.

I then advised that I would gladly deliver the item to her as it was about 14 kms away - being her work address.

However there was a catch, on that specific day, I was on the superbike and had left the car at home.

Should he be able to confirm that she had the specific amount of cash for the item, it should be no problem.

We end the call and about half an hour later, he calls me to confirm and that I can deliver.

I jump on the bike and ride out to said location, en route I almost get t-boned by a split link skipping a stop street......no matter though.......soldier on and finally arrive at the address.

She keeps me waiting for half an hour in the waiting area. Finally comes down, gladly looks at the item in her hands and says "thank you for dropping it off, goodbye"

I then hastily respond with "here is your slip, I have the change ready as well"

She looks at me with a perplexed notion "But why should I pay for this? I ordered it yesterday, it wasnt delivered this morning".

I then revert back and explain the conversation to her from the Senior regional and that if she was happy with the item, she could then collect it from my store later before closing.

Very arrogantly she slams the item on the counter in their waiting room and says "well I dont have that cash on me."

Its at this point when I decided 'huh uh, nou is ek gatv0l vir die vrou se kark'. I then proceeded to respond with the fact that I had almost lost my life delivering this item to her free of charge and that Amazon doesnt even do deliveries the next day. Further to this, there was no monies exchanged online and that I would not pay for an item that would basically become a freebie for her.

She very quickly responds with 'well then you shouldnt be riding like an a$$hole and I ride for a bike club'.

My swift response was to explain to her that I too ride for an MC and that its position in the community is much higher than that of the normal run of the mill club. The point she raises also has no bearing on the current issue or the fact that she is actually trying to defraud a company out of monies owed and stock.

She swiftly left and then came back later with the correct amount of cash in hand.

Refunded the "GERM" 60% of the money.

I taxed him 40% for handling and fitment.

I also advised him to rather go buy his parts elsewhere as i no longer want to continue doing business with him..

He will be sorry he closed this door cause he was getting his parts for DIRT CHEAP!

Anyway, im happy with the outcome..

and if he does come back, i will Charge him "SPECIAL PRICES" :roflol:

Hey bud,

Do you have a scrapyard for BMW only or other brands as well?

Hi

No scrap yard ...

but only have E46 parts

If i need parts for my car, in this case i needed the front fenders/bonnet/Headlights, then i buy a complete non-running E46.

I remove what i need and sell the rest to recover the cost.
