Disconnect battery? - Long Storage

Hi guys, some advice on vehicle storage.
I am leaving the country for about a month. So no major preparations required.
But I wanted to disconnect the battery and some-one advised that the key will "lose sync" if I do that??
Is this true? And what should do?
Thanks

 rather leave it on with a proper charger, you dont want to go through resetting everything after.

Sorry, 118i 2010 model.
So the key will lose sync?
And there are potential other issues??

Would “Transport Mode” work?

I smell bullsh1t on the key loosing sync, i would put a trickle charger on. If your battery is in a good condition you shouldnt need to dc or do anything, i was in australia for just over 4 weeks car was standing in that time, i got back car started first time out.

Unless you know your battery is near its end of life or something discharges your battery while it's off, then don't bother.

I leave (at least twice a year) for a month duration coming back with cars starting just fine.

unless you have a tracker or something just leave it connected. one month isn't a seriously long time

Thanks for the inputs - appreciated , gonna get someone to start it once a week
Will probably be worse than starting it. Unless they actually drive it I think.

+1 I would rather just leave the car switched off for the month or get someone to drive it once a week for 10km

Yeah, starting a BMW engine, and not driving it, especially if you don't let it get at least a little running temperature and you asking it to struggle to start the next time. You want the oil to at least get to the top of the engine ect. Which means leaving it idleing at least 5 minutes, preferably more. So might as well take it for a drive if you start it.
