difference between N42 and N46?

Hi everyone! Can anyone please explain to me what the difference is between these two engines except for the 10kw increase? Do both use the same valvetronic setup? Some say the N46 is more reliable..? I want to buy a car with the N42 engine but Im not sure if I should rather go for one with the N46/N45 engine? Any info will be much appreciated

The N42 is less reliable than the revised N46, lets just put it this way, the N46 is the N42 with all the problems Ironed out,

Both Great motors in my opinion but get a N46 if you can.

N46 FTW! more reliable and claimed to be slightly lighter on fuel if i am not mistaken
