differance between M42 and M44 motor

Hi Guys needs some info on the difference between the M42 and M44 motor

One is m44 and the other is m42,

One is a twincam 16 v and the other is not ,...

Okay now that link was helpful, the reason why I am researching the motor is, I am thinking of dropping a turbo into my car any advise? Just keep in mind I have no idea of mechanics
