I like ppl to show me things.

I read egr , pdwhatever and I have no clue what they talking about. Show me and I remember .

With the subarus I did diagnostics minor mods and loads of diy so id like to do this with the bmw aswell

Lets hook up some where over a weekend

I'm from cape town if you want to meet up. But I can share most on the forum and most has already been shared if you browse through some 320d threads.

Egr is exhaust gas recirculation. It takes exhaust gassed out the exhaust manifold through a cooler and back into the intake.

Pdwhatever? Not sure what you're talking about. Cdv? Clutch delay valve? Pdc? Park distance control?

What are your goals for the car?

Straight of the bat I can tell you BMW is NOT as straight forward as Subaru. I know this, because I'm an avid Scooby fan as well, and have had more than one STi.

But, I heed you welcome to 'no-more-detonation' land ;)

I want a Scooby for the weekends :coolShake: 180kw is probably the most power one could get out of the 320d without major mods. Solid motor though as with most BMW engines it can handle and loves to be driven hard which is what I like.

Plenty plenty info and DIY threads on the forum. Do a search or browse through all the older topics and you'll learn plenty without even opening the bonnet of your car. I did, and I used to be a complete DIY virgin. Was even too scared to change a light bulb in my car. Now it's a different story.

Luckily I've had a diesel car for the past 3 years and I did modify it, and mostly by myself through DIY. So I know a fair bit about the general workings of a diesel, but I still have some to learn about the BMW in particular. Previous diesel was a Polo Sportline.

I've already learnt a lot by doing research on this forum, so hopefully I can continue that and learn more about my car.
