I'm in Belgium on business for a few weeks. The company has an E91 BMW 318d Touring facelift that I'm driving. It has the normal N47D20 motor derivative but with 105kW, 320NM. It is quite a pleasure to drive at the lowish altitudes here. It does not pull like train, but has enough grunt and will easily go past the legal limits on the motorways.
The best thing is the economy, though. I am seeing an average of 4.9 l/100km with a range of > 1200km:
All this is probably a good thing, seeing that diesel here costs €1.40/liter or R17.00/l :bangdesk:. You get only one grade of diesel here, 10ppm and the exhaust burns light gray.
Just for comparison, 95 petrol costs €1.60/liter or R19.00/l and 98 petrol is €1.70/liter or R20.40/l :bangdesk::bangdesk:
I also some cars here that are not an everyday sight in SA, I spotted a McLaren SLR at a restaurant and an Aston Martin Rapide parked on the street.
