DIAGNOSTIC TOOL BMW E46

Hi all
i am new to the site so please can you assist
i have recently bought a 2002 330D Individual
i am looking for a diagnostic tool to clear error codes and read engine live condition diesel model obviously if that is the correct terminology
What would you suggest something under R2500 would be good
i have seen the PA SOFTWARE SCANNER seems very cheap ?
not sure it can do all that much
any idea on a good system?

I have just checked my diagnostic a college at work has a pa soft ware system
what a stroke of luck

it reads a error as follows
ABS* -> 5E21/E0 - Pressure sensor 2 electrical faulty.
5E20/E0 - Pressure sensor 1 electrical faulty.
5E1E/E0 - CAN Timeout LWS
5E15/60 - CAN Timeout EGS
5D8C/E0 - Sensor cluster Timeout CAN
Now i am not a top mechanic but i am confused i looked for the sensor 1 & 2 on the master cylinder unit and they definitely not there no plug at all
could this be some sort of pirate master cylinder or am i missing the point also no loose wires that i can see either
any comments ??
