Hi guys.
I have a Glacier Grey 2014 BMW 320i MSport a/t.
All has been going well until.....
On the 1st of December 2015 my car showed a "Drivetrain Malfunction" on the main display as I was driving back home on my way from the local butchery. The cars warning system then said I should continue my journey at a moderate speed of which I did. About 800metres or so the car suddenly shudders and switched off. As I was still in the road I switch it back on and just managed to get on the side of the road to avoid any ongoing traffic after the 3rd try. Subsequently after trying to restart the car multiple times, the car would just idle for a few second and shake then switches off. I then phoned BMW on-call service who told me that they would send a technician to evaluate/assess the vehicle. After 30 minutes BMW called me to inform that they opted to come and fetch the vehicle with a flatbed pick-up truck to take it to the nearest BMW center for evaluation/repair/assessment.
My car was fetched and taken to Lynn Schroeder BMW George in the Western Cape.
As of today they still cannot give me proper feedback on what the problem is with the car. I personally feel that since it's a BMW and the car is at a BMW center I do not need to wait as long as I did since I did not leave a Toyota or other brand with them.
Said establishment only contacted me for updates after me having to always ask for updates personally. I kindly ask if you can be able to assist in the matter because I honestly do not believe that they cannot figure out the problem when the car has been at Lynn Schroeder BMW for almost 3 months now without a definitive answer/feedback/diagnosis.
Is it normal to wait as long as I did for a diagnosis? What are my options?
PLEASE ASSIST
