Diagnostic cable from EBAY

The CD with INPA that gets shipped with this "e-bay" cables are useless and many times incomplete. It is better to download the working INPA software from the bimmerforums links, this way you dont need to struggle with software and the proper installation instructions are supplied on bimmerforums as well.

Look guys, I can get working cables in SA for R350. Then they are verified to work on a BMW (I use them). I can also do the mods, but that will cost extra...

I would be interested in a cable, provided it is at a reasonable cost and fully operational. (NB: around R350 seems reasonable)

If anyone is organizing a group buy put me on the list (or PM me).

I have looked at this, but supplying INPA is illegal, and BMW does take this seriously. There has been various reports of serious action taken against guys in the states for distributing INPA and the other goodies.

Defiantly... supplying software is illegal.. so up to each individual to acquire it them selves...

Agreed. Luckily, in our country, possession of unlicensed software (or any intellectual property for that matter), is not a criminal offense, but distributing it is. The max fine for license infringement is the normal purchase price of said license. Unfortunately, in the case of INPA, I presume it will be VERY expensive...

Have a look at THIS link for very good cables if you guys are going ahead with a group buy.

The guys on bimmerforums are very knowledgeable about various interfaces and there is a lot of information in the diagnostic forum.

Will call my supplier tomorrow to get a price on a bulk buy. If you do get the cable elsewhere please make sure it has the FT232RL chip.

So let's get this legally right, as this is a public forum. No one is going to be selling INPA software. Where & how you get it is your problem.

However, there seems to be a group buy for cables, which should be legit. Correct???
